Tom Vickery –Triathlon Coach

- Bsc Sport and Exercise Science, University of Wales Institute Cardiff (UWIC) 2004-2007

- Diploma in Sports massage
Experience
Tom has trained and raced alongside many professional Triathletes.
He has previously has worked with the British Triathlons Grassroots project, which has developed a number of successful athletes to an international level. As well as being an active Coach for the Cambridge Triathlon Club and assistant coach with the Regional Performance Academy.
Tom is still actively competing, Notable recent results include 8th in the National Elite Duathlon Championships 2008, 3rd overall in the National Ranking Duathlon Series , Ashbourne 2010. And was part of the Cambridge team that achieved Silver in the National Triathlon Relay Championships in 2009. As well as triathlon Tom has experience in cycling racing having competed in several multi day stage races over the past few years.
Relatively new to Singapore Tom came in a rather unconventional way, which involved cycling from Beijing to Singapore over a period of 2 months.
Garett Lee – Swimming Coach
Sports: swimming
Garett has devoted himself tirelessly to swim coaching throughout his career and has coached extensively across all age groups and of different skill levels, spanning from infant aquatics, learn-to-swim, age-group competitive as well as adult stroke improvement technique programs.
Garett is also a certified National Registry of Coaches (Senior Coach level - Swimming), Swim Australia™ teacher, AUSTSWIM™ trainer, qualified lifeguard (Distinction award) and holds a Diploma in Sports and Excercise Science.
Garret’s cheerful attitude, great patience and dedication to helping swimmers improve has made him a valued member of the MetaSport coaching team.
Lucy – Swimming Coach
Sports: swimming
Lucy has been working in the fitness, coaching and management field for 5 years. After graduating in Sport and Exercise Science, she focused her career and qualifications towards rehabilitation and injury prevention through exercise. She has 3 years experience working within the UK public health system, primarily using exercise and hydrotherapy with stroke victims and brain injury patients, as well as weight management groups, and joint replacement teams.
In addition to her work with specialist groups, she coached a high level masters swimming club in London for over 2 years. Working with ex-European champions in freestyle and back stroke; she helped both with overall fitness and technique development.
Since being in Singapore she has coached the Singapore Paralympic team (including Asean Games Gold Medalist Theresa Goh) and worked freelance in stroke correction, overall fitness development and babies and toddlers swimming. |

Trudy Fawcett – Running Coach
Sports: running, triathlon
Trudy is a well know member of the regional endurance sport scene with an impeccable resume as an athlete. She has a very strong background in running, competing as an elite athlete in the London Marathon in 2008, with a PB of 2:55. Trudy has also had great success in regional running events winning the Singapore and Kuala Lumpur ½ Marathons.
Trudy took up Triathlon in 2008 and by December she was the overall women's age Group Champion at the Laguna Phuket Triathlon, establishing herself as one of Asia's top age group triathletes. She cemented her reputation by repeating the feat the following year. In 2009, Trudy competed in the ITU World Championships and come 10th in her age group.
Always one to give back, Trudy enjoys helping others finding their running feet. In spite of her outstanding racing pedigree, Trudy’s modest demeanor, encouraging approach and high energy levels makes her ideally suited for developing runners of all abilities.
Matthe Vijverberg
Sports: swimming, triathlon
Matthe relates to athletes from his competitive years as a national long-distance swimmer in the Netherlands and as one of the best age-group triathletes in Asia from 2004 to 2006 (ranking 7th pro at the Phuket Triathlon in 2004, and overall age-group winner of the Hong Kong ITU International Triathlon in 2005).
Matthe started coaching fellow athletes merely as a hobby, but proved to be very successful in lifting them to the next level. His sheer enthusiasm for the sport, thorough understanding of athlete’s needs and drive to help them achieve their goals are believed to be the magic formula to his coaching success.
Bastian Doehling
Sports: cycling, running
Bastian is an accomplished and passionate runner and cyclist who started running competitively at the age of 12 and cycled 24,000km solo around Australia at the age of 20.
Bastian started coaching for Metasport out of genuine interest in impacting positively people’s life.
Bastian's amazing energy, cheerful attitude, patience and sense of dedication makes him a successful and inspiring coach.
Kevin Timmons – Coaching Division Manager
Sports: swimming, triathlon
Kevin started out his sporting life as a swimmer winning many national accolades in UK in his youth. He was able to build on this when he took up triathlon in 2005 and quickly established himself as a leading age group triathlete by winning the London Triathlon in 2007, Laguna Phuket triathlon 3 times and then representing GB at the World ITU Triathlon Championships in 2009, coming 16th in his age group.
Before joining the MetaSport team as Coaching Division Manager in early 2010, Kevin was a member for 4 years. His professional background in Corporate Training and Personal Development Coaching blending well with his sporting prowess to help develop MetaSports Coaching Division. |
