Phuket Training Camp, Thailand
27th – 30th September 2011
Metasport would like to welcome you to our oldest and most famous training camp, timed perfectly so you can make the most of 3½ days of high quality training in preparation for the Laguna Phuket Triathlon, Asia-Pacific Ironman 70.3 Championship (also at Laguna Phuket), and Western Australia Ironman. Also, this is ideal training for those of you looking to kick start your training programme for Singapore 70.3 in March 2011.
There will be plenty of variety in the training, covering all disciplines and giving you the opportunity to get good endurance training. For those of you looking for something less intense, there will be easier options for you to take to ensure that you are working within your capabilities whilst optimising your training load.
This camp is open to athletes of all abilities.
PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
The rationale for this camp is to insert 3½ days of solid training at a time of year where both your volume and intensity should be high (relative to your personal level) in preparation for Laguna Phuket triathlon, Asia-Pacific Ironman 70.3 (also at Laguna Phuket) and Ironman Western Australia, etc.
As we do each year, we will cater for all levels with 3 training groups for each triathlon discipline with three coaches present, so all levels of ability will benefit from the training.

Naturally, the roads and hills in Phuket give those of us coming from Singapore a great opportunity to stretch our legs and take in some big rides over the hills to the South of the Island. We will be complementing this with some shorter rides combined with runs off the bike as well as longer individual runs.
The rides will be supported by a vehicle and driver to provide for your training nutrition and hydration needs and to help with any mechanical problems.
To prepare you for both the Laguna Triathlon and Asia-Pacific Ironman 70.3, we shall be doing race simulations to make sure that you are properly prepared for the hills and the inaugural 70. 3 course.
There will be morning swim sessions in the supported by boats to ensure your safety.
As a new feature to this camp we will be introducing early evening stretching sessions on the beach. There will also be massages available upon request.
