14 May What’s Your Race Day Ritual? – Singapore Edition
Every runner has their own way of getting ready for race day. Some kiasu, some chill until the last minute. See which one sounds like you!
🥇 The Kiasu (Checklist Champion)
“Better be safe than sorry – I prepare one week before!”
Bib? Pinned. Shoes? Clean. Route? Memorised.
First one to reach the start line (maybe even before the organisers).
Brings extra gels and extra socks – just in case.
🏃♂️ The Latecomer
“What time start ah? Got time to buy kopi or not?”Snooze button champion.
Still tying shoelaces while MC is doing countdown.
But somehow still manages to sneak into the flag-off group.
🧘 The Rilek-One-Corner (The Calm One)
“Don’t stress lah. Just jog only, enjoy the vibes.”
Wake up steady, maybe stretch a bit, maybe don’t.
No drama, no rush, just chill vibes.
Jog for joy, not to chase personal best.
🧦 The Everything-Pantang (Superstitious)
“Left sock must wear first. Every time, no exception.”
Same breakfast, same playlist, same underwear (we don’t ask).
Will turn back if forget to do one small ritual.
Swears it affects their run.
📸 The Influencer
“If never post, did I really run?”
Got bib photo, start line selfie, route reel, and medal boomerang.
Outfit colour-coded with shoes and drink bottle.
Knows where the good lighting is at every KM.
🤷 The Bochup (Anything Goes)
“Aiya, anything can lah. Just run and see how.”
Didn’t plan, didn’t train much, still show up.
Forgot socks? Borrow. Forgot gel? Wing it.
Here for the vibes, medal is a bonus.
