MyRaceGate App – Privacy Policy
The protection of your personal data is important to us. MyRaceGate Pte Ltd (the ‘Company’, ‘we’, ‘ús’, or ‘our’) takes your privacy seriously. We will take all reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse and keep it secure.
This Privacy Policy (the ‘Privacy Policy’) encompasses information collected by the App.
By using the App and/or providing us with your personal information, you consent to our collection, use, and disclosure (including transfer) of your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We strongly recommend you to read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand our policy and practices with regards to the treatment of the personal information provided by you. This Privacy Policy is applicable to both registered and non-registered users, and the policy may be updated or amended from time to time as the Company deems necessary.
- Information we collect
Personal information refers to any information that enables us to identify you as a participant in the events hosted on the app (‘Event Participant’).
You have to provide the following mandatory information when you use the App:
- Email address
We collect and process your location information when you use the App for an event, from the moment you start an event until you complete the event or close the app We need this information to
track your device location in order to provide you with the corresponding audio directional guidance
during an event, and validate that you complete the entire course. We require to access your location in the background, so you can close your screen or navigate away from the app temporarily for other activities on your phone. We do not track your device location while you are not using the App.
- Collection and use of personal information
We acquire your personal and demographic information when you sign up to the App:
- Email address
- First name
- Surname
- Gender
- Date of birth
- Event information i.e. total distance completed, the route followed, total run time and average running speed
This is for the purposes of:
- Verifying your identity
- Ranking your results by gender / age category
- Comparing your results with the competitors you nominate
- Listing your results on event leaderboards
- Protection of your personal information
The security of your personal information is important to us. We always strive to ensure that your personal information is protected against unauthorised access.
All personal information provided by you is only accessible by our authorised staff. We shall not disclose your personal information to any authorised third parties except for those mentioned in Point 4 and such personnel are requested to observe the terms of this Privacy Policy when accessing such personal information.
We follow generally accepted industry standards to protect your personal information. However, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is completely secure. While we strive to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
- Disclosure of personal information
We may disclose your Personal Information to third parties for the specific purposes described below. All recipients are required to protect the personal information and use it only for the purpose it was provided in consistent with this Privacy Policy. We may share your personal information if:
- You have specifically consented to such disclosure;
- The recipient has been authorised to provide services in relation to the use of the app on our behalf;
- The recipient is our service provider who provides us with necessary services including but not limited to IT services, hosting and maintenance services, data analytics services, email messaging services, delivery services, handling of payment transactions, marketing, etc;
- The recipient is a government entity, agency or ministry that is required to approve events on the app
- The recipient is our consultant or professional adviser including but not limited to lawyers and auditors;
- Required by law, such as pursuant to a subpoena, regulatory oversight, or other legal process;
- We believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary (a) to protect our rights, the integrity of the Event, your safety or the safety of others, or (b) to detect, prevent or respond to fraud, intellectual property infringement, violations of our Terms of Use, violations of law, or other misuse of the App.
- Withdrawal of consent
You may, at any time, withdraw your consent for our collection, use, or disclosure of your personal information for any purpose by contacting us in writing.
- Retention of Personal Data
Your personal information will be maintained securely in our system as soon as it is provided by you. It will be retained by us unless you request in writing that we shall delete your personal information from our database.
- Link to other websites and applications
The Privacy Policy applies solely to information we collect and the use through the App. If you access or use a linked website or application, the privacy policy of that other website or application will apply to your access or use. You are advised to review each such third party’s privacy statement as well as their terms of use. We shall not be responsible for the content and privacy policies or notices of those websites or applications.
- Changes to Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When updates are made, the version date (located at the bottom of this Privacy Policy) will also be updated to reflect that a revision occurred and will be made available in our App.
The updated Privacy Policy will take effect immediately and will supersede all earlier versions and will continue to apply to all personal information provided to us previously. Each time you access the App and any updates provided by the App, you acknowledge and agree that the latest version of this Privacy Policy shall apply.
- Governing law and jurisdiction
Nothing in this Privacy Policy shall limit your rights under Singapore’s PDPA.
This Privacy Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore and you agree to submit to
the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Singapore.
