Run As One Singapore 2021 – Race Report

And that’s a wrap! Across 10 days of racing in the 2021 Run As One Singapore we saw plenty of smiling runners, personal achievements, and some amazing sunsets. It’s been great to see runners back racing around Marina Bay, thank you for supporting this event and showing so much positivity over the recent months.

From experienced runners to first timers, husbands and wives, running mates and friends, there was a wide spectrum of athletes toeing the start line. A big thanks to the Singapore Sports Hub as host venue partner for the event, who welcomed our race-hungry runners.

Deservedly, the final weekend was full of excitement with the top ranking in both the men’s and women’s 12.8km races changing hands with some fast times being laid down.

Friday morning saw Justin Tilley lay his claim to the title with a sizzling 44:58, and Saturday morning Shermaine Tan posted a solid run 58:14. Both had a nervous wait overnight to see if their times would be enough. Enter the 2020 reigning champion, Sharon Tan, racing first-thing on Sunday morning. It took her 57 minutes and 8 seconds to dash the hopes of Tan, and take the women’s title. Nobody could shake Tilley’s lead in the men’s race, and he took the crown.

The fastest Team of 4 in the 12.8km distance was “Shufflers” in a time of 03:18:58, beating RUNderrated by two and a half minutes.

The 6.2km distance was also competitive. Congratulations to Haythem El-Ansary who is the Men’s champion, and Tatiana Timofeeva our Women’s winner (she also finished 7th in the 12.8km category – well done Tatiana!).

Congratulations to you all for your own personal achievements – we hope you had a great experience. Finally, we would like to give a big mention to New Life Community Services with whom we have worked for the past few years. They are well one the way to achieving their $150,000 fundraising target to support the next generation of children in Singapore. It’s not too late to donate, if you wish to support this initiative.
